Standard Shimla Stint.. Day3 & 4..

Day3 : Naldehra..Tattapani and the Mall road..

Again we get up to a very clear sky.. No sign of rain and yes it did not rain overnight yesterday as it did the day before..
Naldehra to Mashobra is just about 12kms.. but still took us a good half an hour to reach there...
by the looks of it, we were the first tourists on the spot..
We wanted to cramp in the Jakhu temple too, today.. it was only 9.30, but given how much time we spent yesterday and not knowing how much time it would take to see Naldehra, we decided to take the Rs.250 horse ride again..

The beautiful HPTDC cottages at Naldehra.. Wish I had stayed at one of them..

clicked while riding the horse.. the climb today was much simpler compared to yesterday at Kufri..

The temple on the golf course..

some random pics..

We did not spend much time there and decided to leave for Tattapani.. the road is winding and takes you down the hill..

Tattapani literally means Hot water..
The temperature kept rising by a good degree for every 5-10 mins of travel..

somewhere on the way..

As We reached closer to Tattapani, we saw met trying to woo us for white water rafting.. the water was too calm and quite to have some real fun.. as it is I have already experience the white water rafting at Kolad(Mh) and Dandeli(KA)..
also, looking at the water, i would say it should be renamed as Brown water rafting.. The lowest rate we were quoted was Rs.650 for a 6 kms run.. The same run was quote Rs.950 at the banks.. and Rs.850 by the hotel fun management staff..
According to our driver, the place would soon vanish as there is a dam that will be built here..

at Tattapani..

the super cool Satluj..

On the banks..

The crystal clear Tattapani.. Believed to have medicinal values, we saw people bathing in this super hot spring.. it is said that the water cures skin ailments..

We could not bear the heat and wanted to get back to the hill station as soon as we could.. We decided to leave from here in just about 30 mins or so.. it was just unbearable and with no shade in sight, we had very little choice..
If only I had checked some hotel for lunch, we might have met some bcmtians

Jakhu Temple , the Mall road and the way back...

We had a lot of time today, or it seemed so.. We decided that we would do Jakhu temple today and the Mall road too.. both are pretty close to each other..
Our driver kept telling us the road to Jakhu is difficult and winding, but not to worry, he will take us till the temple..

We were asked to carry sticks with us in case the infamously notorious monkeys decide to attack.. so we paid 70rs. for the prasad + sticks at the entrance of the temple (money making business i guess)..

The monkeys kept at bay looking at the sticks in our hand.. but one did attack a couple, trying to snatch a dupatta from the girls neck..

Veriditer Flycatcher..

this guy was pretty bold and sat right in front of me posing  I was so happy..

a view from the mall road..

something similar to a dabheli here in mumbai, this is Kulcha-Chole.. I wish the Chole were a bit warm, but still I loved it..

The clouds started gathering as usual in the evening time.. It was time to seek shelter..

I waited to the lighting to strike in the background, but then my hands started paining and decided to click it anyways..

... We reached back to the hotel and had a good sleep.. Tomorrow we fly back to mumbai, but not before we see something more..

Next morning it was all clear as usual..

While coming back we had good vegetarian food at a Vegetarian Punjabi dhaba close to Baddi... We also went to Pinjore garden for a stroll..

Jungle babbler at the garden..

Inflight shots over Chd and Delhi...

--- THE END ...
